Professor Scott Schaus, collaborated With BU Biology Professor Ulla Hansen on research into chemical compounds that could help treat liver cancer. Professor Schaus provided the resources to synthesize and screen compounds to determine how effective these compounds could be in reducing a protein, called transcription factor LSF. LSF appears to play a role in the growth of liver.

This research was highlighted in a BU Today article in April 2012.
